This was one of our favourite projects to date! A conversion of an old tired looking tennis court into a fully function kitchen garden complete with a brand new victorian style green house, outdoor entertaining & dinning area, raised Oak beds, statement fruit cage & even enough room for its very own bespoke chicken coop & run.
The brief was relatively straight forward, to convert a tennis court into a kitchen garden that would not only be a functional space but also an area to enjoy and spend time in. There was no fixed design criteria for this project with the clients providing ideas and layout as the project unfolding, this can be a daunting task for some, however, not for this very creative client who had a very keen eye for detail and great design vision.
This is a thing a beauty and it sits dead centre stage basking in glory and taking pride of place. The structural walls were built using a high quality handmade yellow bricks which are weathered and aged to perfectly replicate genuine reclaimed yellow stocks, pictures do not do this justice! The walls were double thick to add a dramatic sense of structure and quality whilst effortlessly & proudly supporting the Cedar framed glasshouse that beautifully replicates the Victorian style for a breathtaking surprise as she comes into view.
All the raised beds, to which there are many, were constructed using Oak sleepers.
